About Us

Liina Koivula (they/them) is a writer and book designer. Their short story "Wisdom Teeth" was a winner of the 2023 AWP Intro Journals Award and is forthcoming in Puerto del Sol. They are the fiction and experimental editor at Local Smoke Press and hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University. They now work in student services at Spokane Community College after 15+ years in the printing industry. @liina.koivula

Kaden Jelsing (he/him) holds a PhD in History from the University of British Columbia. He was awarded the Killam Trust Scholarship in 2018 for his work in Settler Colonialism and Indigenous-Settler Relations and Environmental History. He is the poetry and nonfiction editor at Local Smoke Press and currently teaches at Smith College. @slimxvolume
